Yesterday, Jeremy shared a message about
-Purpose of a family(Part A)-

In the last 2 CGMS , he preached about the power of the connect group. He told us that as a connect group we have to pray and seek the face of God together to get a better result and related to connect group, each of us have been placed a group called family. SO....what is the purpose of a family???


In society today...people are getting busier and busier as compared to 10 or 20 years ago. Many people spend so much time on their career that they neglect time with their family members and spending time with the people they love. Many women also are also so busy with their career that they get married at a later age and so give birth late and this causes low-population growth.Some even get too carried away that they don't even think about getting married!!!!

-We should always remember not to neglect relationships with people who are important to us no matter how busy we are.

We look up to the USA as a model of economic success in the world but we must also see what price they pay to gain this success and what are the common issues/social problems that arise in that country.

-In the USA, Many teenages and youngsters commit suicide because of emotional breakdowns and there are many social problems cause by the breakdown of the family as a whole.

-In United States, 1 of the major problem is that of the absentee father. Fathers neglect their family because of their busy schedule!!!Fathers are head of the family and are responsible to take care of the issues that happens around the house and the mother helps out in this....Because fathers neglect their duties and are never around when their child needs them it causes a strain in this relationship and cause the breakdown of the family relationship which leads to social problems


Genesis 2:18-24

18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.
20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.


There are Two purposes of familes

As christians we have two family:A physical Family(Our blood family) and a spiritual family(Church...)

1st purpose of family :shelter of storms

Proverbs 14:26:
26 In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.
-Our refuge is our home


3 storms we will go through...


1st storm: change
-change is a contant in life.A person who do not change is a dead man.

2nd storm:Failure
-we make mistakes and how we come out of it and pesevere on is the challenge

3rd storm:rejection

How do we change our home into shelter???

1)hear
-have listening ears to one another.....


2)Hug
-Show physical contact

3)Help

-help one another.Bless one another, Don't just show concern but also help them to your extent

4)Hope

-Build each other then to tear them down....

2nd purpose of family :A place to play
